A jack of all trades, and, until recently, master of exceedingly few, I’ve managed to work my way around the world; crafting grant proposals for a NGO in Rwanda, swabbing cruise boat decks on the Rhine, and slinging po’ boys out of a food truck in Australia (where I was hired because of my “authentic American accent”). Through all this, the major themes have been the need for empathy and communication, regardless of language or cultural barriers. These experiences eventually led me to UX research and design, as I try to create tools that are accessible and meaningful to people the world over.
